product feature
Valuable pressed olive oil is processed in this product into a soap that has excellent cleaning, caring and moisturizing properties for textiles made of wool and silk. With the help of the sugar surfactant, a soap-based mild detergent is created that is easy to handle even with hard water and retains all the positive properties of a soap detergent. The olive oil, rapeseed oil and sunflower oil as well as the essential lavender oil come 100% from controlled organic cultivation.

Origin and properties of the ingredients
Olive soap: The fruits come from centuries-old olive groves in the Mediterranean region of Italy, Spain and Greece, from which the olive oil in controlled organic quality is obtained through mechanical processes such as pressing and centrifuging. Saponified with potassium hydroxide, it forms the main component of the Sonett olive detergent for wool and silk. Olive oil is the best oil raw material for a mild moisturizing soap. Its balanced fatty acid composition, its healing, balancing effect on the heart and circulation and the remarkable development of the olive tree plant in a 7-year rhythm show the special closeness and relationship of this oil to people.
Rapeseed oil soap / sunflower oil soap: Vegetable oil saponified with potassium hydroxide serves to increase the washing power. Rapeseed, flax and sunflowers are among the few oil crops that are grown in our moderate Central European climate for oil production, also in controlled organic quality.
Ethanol: Obtained by fermenting starchy crops such as corn and potatoes. Ethanol helps to keep the soap liquid and at the same time improves the fat-dissolving power of the detergent.
Sugar surfactant: Sugar, starch and coconut oil are the raw materials for the sugar surfactant used. The proportion of the sugar tenside is adjusted to the soap content of the detergent in such a way that it serves to keep the lime soap that forms with hard water in a finely distributed form and to prevent it from settling on the laundry.

Biodegradation
Soap made from vegetable oils has the outstanding feature of combining with the always present lime in the waste water to form lime soap immediately after use. As a result, the surface-active effect that attacks aquatic life is neutralized within a few hours (primary degradation). The lime soap is then 100% broken down by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary breakdown). Ethanol can be mixed with water indefinitely and is reintegrated into the natural cycle within a few hours. In the manufacturing process of sugar surfactants, parts of starch, sugar and fat are removed from the vegetable raw materials, but their natural structure is completely retained. It is therefore relatively easy for the microorganisms to quickly and completely degrade these surfactants to 100%. According to the OECD, soap and sugar surfactants are considered to be easily biodegradable.
