Origin and properties of the ingredients

The oils and essential oils for these hand soaps are 100% from certified organic cultivation or wild collection. The organic coconut fat is sourced from small farmers in the Philippines in the Davao and Agusan regions. The coconut palms are cultivated in mixed cultures on a maximum of 5 hectares in size. Biodegradation

Soap made from vegetable oils has the incomparable peculiarity of entering into a connection with the lime that is always present in the waste water immediately after use. As a result, the soap neutralizes itself in its surface-active effect (primary degradation). This primary breakdown occurs within a few hours. The lime soap is then 100% broken down by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary breakdown). Ethanol is reintegrated into the natural cycle within a few hours. In addition to the natural glycerin, which is released from the oils during saponification, we also use vegetable glycerin, which binds the skin's moisture. During the manufacturing process of sugar surfactant, parts of starch, sugar and fat are removed from the vegetable raw materials, but their natural structure is completely retained. It is therefore relatively easy for the microorganisms to quickly and completely degrade these surfactants to 100%. According to the OECD, soap and sugar surfactants are considered to be easily biodegradable.
