Salt is not just salt
While the salt in other seas is mostly sodium chloride, the Dead Sea is rich in various minerals, including magnesium, potassium, calcium and bromine. In addition, the Dead Sea salt contains other valuable minerals such as strontium, manganese and zinc. Interestingly, the amount of magnesium in the Dead Sea is about 30 times higher than in the Mediterranean.

A comparison of healthy and damaged skin barriers.
The skin's protective barrier acts as a natural protective shield against external influences such as pathogenic bacteria, chemical substances or allergens and consists of 70% water. Various factors such as environmental influences, stress, extreme temperatures and the natural aging process can weaken the skin's natural protective barrier. If the protective barrier of the skin is disturbed, this can lead to damage. As a result, the skin loses moisture and dries out, leading to fine lines and cracks caused by dryness and giving it a rough and unhealthy appearance. Sensitive, dry or very dry skin feels tight and is often accompanied by hypersensitivity, itching and inflammation.

Positive effects of Dead Sea salt on the skin's protective barrier.
The Dead Sea minerals have a fascinating effect on the skin, similar to a magnet that attracts moisture. They specifically draw moisture and important nutrients from the deeper layers of the skin and transport them to the outer layer of the epidermis, where they are particularly needed. They activate natural osmotic ion pumps, which strengthen the protective barrier of the skin and can effectively reduce inflammatory processes.

Positive properties at a glance
Thanks to its strong concentration of magnesium chloride, Dead Sea salt can bind moisture in the skin. When the magnesium ions are absorbed by the cells, they help improve the water content between the cells. In this natural way, the Dead Sea minerals promote a healthy skin balance.
